Jeff was born to Jefferson and Florence Bell on June 12, 1924 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He was raised in Hood River, Oregon and Stevenson, Washington, and attended high school in Stevenson. In 1942, Jeff moved to Oregon and on September 4, 1943 he married Marge Bell in Louisville, Kentucky while he was in the Army. He served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946 to return home to Portland. Jeff soon began his career with Santry Trucking and was employed with the company for 30 years. On his personal time, he was passionate about the outdoors and would take his family on hunting and fishing trips, many of which were organized through their church. He was a member of the Tigard Church of God and King City Men's Golf Club. Jeff is survived by his daughters Tami Bell and husband Steve Jurchen of Tualatin, Marlene White and husband Pat White of Donald; son Terry Bell of Redmond; brothers Delmer Bell of Portland and Lloyd Bell of Boring; sister Lova Clarke of Capitola, California; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marge Bell; son Tommy Bell and granddaughter Lois Ann Bell. A memorial service will be held from 1 to 3pm on December 10th at the Tigard Church of God in Tigard. Jeff will be laid to rest with his belated wife at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Humane Society, the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Cancer Society. He was a longtime employee of Farmers Insurance Group in Los Angeles, California, where they made their home. He has resided with his cousins, Ray (Dora Lou) Bellows in Payson for the past two years. Their family will miss him greatly. Services will be Friday, June 23, 2000, 11 a.m. at the Walker Mortuary where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery. |

He was born February 10, 1929 in Lake Shore to Samuel A. and Electa Drollinger Bellows. The family moved to Dividend but he spent many summers with Grandpa and Uncles back on the farm at Lake Shore. He attended Payson schools and Brigham Young University in Accounting. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked at Geneva Steel for 29 years, retiring in 1986. Ray married Dora Lou Pace, October 29, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Ray loved to hunt, fish, golf and camp with his family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest in the Payson 15th Ward. He held various callings throughout his life. He was a 5 year trustee of the Provo Elks Lodge. Survivors include: his wife, Dora Lou; children, Sandra (Bruce) Ewell, Payson; Kathy (Glenn) Sorte, Kaysville; Samuel (LaRae) Bellows, Spring Lake; Anita (Phil) Spainhower, Salem; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Arlene (Wendall) Erdman, of Springville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be Tuesday, September 19, 2006, 11:00 a.m., in the Payson 15th Ward Chapel, 650 West 800 South. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Monday, 7-8:00 p.m. or at the church Tuesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the American Legion, Dist. #4. In 1927, Bill moved with his family to Norton where he completed his formal education in the Norton schools. Following his graduation from Norton Community High School in 1938. Bill worked at the Adams Hotel and later for the L. J. Messer Company. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1941, serving in Company I, 32nd Infantry, 7th Division in the Pacific Theater as a machine gun gunner. He saw combat in Attu, Kwajalein, Philippines, and Okinawa. He was also recipient of a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. On Nov. 16, 1942, Bill and Amy Nell Drullinger were united in marriage and to this union two sons, William Eric and G. Paul, were born. Upon his discharge from the military, he returned to Norton. He was hired for the communications unit of the Kansas Highway Patrol and retired Sept. 17, 1984, after 33 1/3 years of service. His wife, Amy Nell, passed away March 12, 1996. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Norton, the Harmonson-Redd American Legion, Lions Club, Library Board, Library Foundation Board, Boy Scouts, Black Powder Club, N.R.A., and volunteered with the community telethon committee, Red Cross, and historical society. Survivors include his son, William Eric and wife, Marsa Belt, Salem, Conn.; his daughter-in-law, Susan Belt, Berryton; one sister, Anna Lee Martin, Sylmar, Calif.; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, G. Paul Belt, Berryton. Memorials are suggested to the Boy Scouts or Norton Public Library. . He was born Jan. 11, 1950 in Norton, Kansas, the son of B.W. "Bill" and Amy Nell Drullinger Belt. He graduated from Norton High School and from Ft. Hays State University with a degree in microbiology. Paul worked at the Kansas Department of Health & Environment as the Technical Specialist for the Clandestine Methamphetamine Drug Lab Clean-up Program. Paul also served as the spill response coordinator at KDHE. Paul married Susan Sesher Morris on July 30, 2004. She survives. Other survivors include: his father of the Andbe Home in Norton, a brother William "Eric" Belt and wife Marsa Hatfield of Salem Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his mother. Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Topeka. The family will receive friends from 5-9 pm Friday evening at the familys home in Berryton.
