3301 I21756  Brannon  Mary Elizabeth  20 Jun 1853  1 Jul 1929  Where is the evidence her middle name is Elizabeth?

Do not confuse Mary Brannon-Trollinger with Mary Susan E. "Susie" Branan (1857-9 Oct 1928 Atlanta, GA) the daughter of Duke Hamilton Branan and Mary Allen Branan. They are two different people!

Mary was the mother of 6 children, all living per the 1900 Census.
Mary was the mother of 8 children, 6 living per the 1910 Census.

The following is my case for why Alfred Hosea Trollinger is most likely not the son of Mary Brannon but rather the son of Alice Payne:
Albert Bomar Trollinger married Alice Payne 14 Apr 1872. Albert's son, Alfred Hosea Trollinger was born 10 Mar 1873 about thirteen months later which would most likely make Alice the mother of Alfred. Albert's subsequent wife's (Mary Brannon) death notice states that Alfred Hosea was one of her "five sons". This may or may not be true that Mary was actually the mother of Alfred. One of the most compelling pieces of evidence that Alfred Hosea is not the son of Mary Brannon is the 1900 Census where Mary states she is the mother of six children with all six still living (those six children would have to be Albert, Benjamin Bomar, Rachel, Thomas Benjamin, Samuel Jim and Mary Hulda). If Alfred really was her son, Mary would have stated that she was the mother of seven children, not six. Mary also states in the 1900 Census that she and Albert have been married for twenty years which would place their marriage year at about 1880. Because Alfred's birth year is 1873 he was born about seven years before Mary and Albert were married. Hopefully, positive proof will soon surface that settles this issue for good. DHD 4 Sep 2023

3326 I2176  Braun  Magdalena   26 Nov 1815  15 Jun 1886  Magdalena or Lena had her share of tragedy in life. After the burning down of her husband's tavern and death of her uncle in law, she had the early death of husband to contend with. Left a pregnant widow she had to provide food and shelter for her family. Fortunately she had a hotel tavern on the Butler Freeport pike to provide an income. At this future date we cannot know how well she did but we can see she managed to survive and keep the building and grounds. Raising a family and running a business could not have been an easy task. Then she suffered further trauma when her oldest son went off to fight in the civil war. When he was killed at the battle of the Wilderness, she no doubt suffered the pain of losing a child. It could not have been easy for her to have her second son as a rebellious child. According to family legend he ran off 3 times to join the army. The first two times she succeeded in bringing him back home. Soon after the death of her eldest he was successful in enlisting in the Army in Pittsburgh. Her eldest daughter died young, probably in child birth. So in the span of a few years she lost two children. Next came the loss of her next daughter's husband with her and her son returning home. Her third son moved to Allegheny City and then to Kansas following her third daughter. His death at a young age gave her more pain and grief to endure. Hers was not an easy life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Loyd Breckenridge; his mother, Rebecca Trollinger Breckenridge; sisters, Molly Bell Breckenridge and Letha Ann Taylor; and brothers, Kenneth Breckenridge and Jessie Breckenridge.

He is survived by his children, Chuck Breckenridge, Penny Walling, and James Breckenridge; his wife, Sharon Breckenridge and her sons Kevin Potter and Jason Potter; his sister, Wanda Breckenridge; and his brothers, Rayburn Breckenridge and Eddie Breckenridge.

Charles worked in many different fields, most of his life in manufacturing at Flexteel furniture, Claridge products and for Cesna Aircraift, then for a short time and the meat packing house. He later worked at Drumright Nursing Home, but the place he seemed to have loved the most was his job at Walmart where he worked until he could no longer do the job. He was extremely proud of the award he received for safety officer of the year!

He loved going to church, spending time with friends and family and you could always tell when he was happy because he would automatically start whistling. He was loved deeply and will be missed intensely.
