A 2 p.m. service will be held Friday, December 28, 2018, at Christ Wesleyan Church in Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, December 27 at Forbis and Dick North Elm Chapel. JC was born October 19, 1939, in Guilford County, NC, to the late Thomas Joseph Trollinger and Ernestine Kanoy Trollinger. He was a life-long member of Christ Wesleyan Church. where he served as a board member, trustee, teacher, and director of the Youth Camp. He also served as a Boy Scout leader and volunteer for more than 30 years. Before becoming president and owner of his own plumbing business, Coble Plumbing, he served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was always willing to volunteer and help others. JC especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play ball. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty J. Trollinger; step-brother, Wink Whittemore, and step-father, Jack Whittemore. Surviving is his wife, Jan W. Trollinger, as well as daughter, Patricia T. Chilco (David), stepson, Ricky Renshaw (Anna), step-son, Michael Renshaw (Angie), step-brother, brothers, Richard Whittemore (Barbara), Tommy Trollinger (Brenda), and Phil Trollinger (Angie). Additionally, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Dolores Blake (Ray). Also surviving are grandchildren, Andrew Chilco (Marina), Jakob Chilco (Amanda), Matthew Chilco, Christopher Renshaw (Ashley), Daniel, Noah, Caleb and Grace Renshaw. In addition, he is survived by a great-granddaughter, Chloe Stedman, as well as his close, life-long friend, Mike Bailey, and several nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his parents and daughters Glenda Easterling and Judy Trollinger. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; daughter, Lisa Sisemore; grandchildren, Steve Easterling, Brad Easterling, Jason Sisemore, Josh Sisemore and Jana Sisemore; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Sisemore and Asher Sisemore. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 11, at Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, online guestbook at www.heritageofnwa.com. Reference the newspaper article titled, 'Adam Trollinger Was The Forefather Of Trollingers In The Piedmont Area' under the headline, 'IN YEARS GONE BY' that appeared in the C-Section Page One of The Daily Times-News (of Burlington, North Carolina) published 14 August 1959 and the following excerpt that reads, "Although General Benjamin Trollinger and his brother John, lost their hotel, and later their cotton mill, the general and his brother John's son, William, were pioneer railroad builders of Alamance County. William also helped his father and uncle Benjamin Trollinger make brick for buttress work of bridges over Haw River, Back Creek and Eno River." Regarding Joseph's nickname of "Josie": Reference his son, James Henry Trollinger Sr's death certificate where his wife, "Roxie", was the informant who supplied additional information including the name of James' father as 'Josie Trollinger'. If Josie was in fact his nickname, one would assume that his daughter-in-law - "Roxie" in this case - would know that. |
