43959 | I18393 | Trullinger | Aaron | 3 Apr 1820 | 14 Jan 1852 | 0 | Early on I had a copy of the Fountain County IN estate records of an Aaron Trullinger, bond posted and letters of administration granted to a Daniel Trullinger. This Daniel Trullinger was established as a son of Abraham P Trullinger through the census records of 1860 and 1870. The only Aaron found was in the 1850 census age 18 residing with a different family. Part of the estate file, Record Book D page 16 mentions the Inventory and sale bill had been destroyed in a court house fire. In a further continuance of the file dated 2 October 1854 it mentions Daniel Trullinger Adm vs the Heirs of Aaron Trullinger. It mentions that the decedant died on the 14th day of January 1850 the owner of a simple lot number 29 in the old plot of the town of Covington valued at $165.00. The decedant died without children or their descendants but leaving surviving him his father Aaron P. Trullinger aged 62 years who is now insane and has for his guardian William H. Mallory and also the following brothers and sisters to wit: Solina Neumon formerly Solina Trullinger aged 30 years who is intermarried with John Neumon, Jane Fugate formerly Jane Trullinger now intermarried with Hiram Fugate aged 23 years, Julia Trullinger aged 25 years, Ellen Trullinger aged 17 years and Francis Trullinger aged 14 years all of whom are of said county (Fountain) and all are the heirs of the deceased known to your petitioner; he therefore asks for an order to sell such real estate at private sale. Curious that Daniel is not named among the heirs! Curious also is the use of Aaron and Abraham almost interchangeably. It is Aaron in a legal document yet Abraham on census records. Gordon L. 43968 | I5013 | Trullinger | Aaron Chatterton "Chat" | 21 Mar 1858 | 15 Nov 1931 | 0 | The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1931 A. C. TRULLINGER DIES SUDDENLY. A. C. TRULLINGER, a life-long resident of Ringgold county and one of the county's most highly respected citizens, died suddenly at his home in Liberty township Sunday evening. Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at the Church of Christ in Mount Ayr, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. Harold SMITH, assisted by Rev. B. I. BLEVINS, pastor of the Tingley M. E. church, and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Aaron Chatterton TRULLINGER closed his earthly pilgrimage at his home in Liberty township on the evening of November 15, 1931. He was 73 years, seven months and 24 days of age. He was born March 21, 1858, in Davis county, Iowa, the third child of M. S. and Margaret TRULLINGER. His parents moved to Ringgold county the following year, 1859, settling in Middle Fork township in the pioneer days of the county. At the age of seven years his mother died. His step-mother, Jane (HAMPTON) TRULLINGER, reared him to manhood. On the 5th day of January, 1882, Mr. TRULLINGER and Lavina SNODGRASS were united in marriage. They established a home in Ringgold county, but later moved to their present home in Liberty township and have lived there the past 32 years. They expected to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary next January. One daughter, May, who is now Mrs. McCREARY, the wife of F. L. McCREARY, superintendent of schools at Petersburg, Minn., came to bless this home. The 73 years of Mr. TRULLINGER's life speak a life well lived and one of great influence in the surrounding community. He was a progressive farmer. He loved his home and was a most unselfish husband and father. He delighted in sharing his home with his friends and his genial welcome and kind hospitality made it a joy for his friends to be there. Mr. TRULLINGER was a member of the Christian church at Mount Ayr, having placed his membership during the pastorate of Bro. Ross WILLIAMS. Mr. TRULLINGER's five sisters and brothers have preceded him in death, but his four half-brothers and three half-sisters survive him. They are: Irving TRULLINGER, Redding, Iowa; R. W. TRULLINGER, State Center, Iowa; John TRULLINGER, Molala, Oregon; Loren TRULLINGER, Portland, Oregon; Ellen BRYSON, Iola, Kan.; Mrs. Etta BROWN, Nooksack, Wash.; Mrs. Arcada BOWMAN, Molala, Oregon. Mr. TRULLINGER leaves to mourn his departure his faithful wife, his daughter, his son-in-law, his grandson Bobbie, age nine, who was a constant companion of his grandfather during the summer months, and Miss Naomi PRICE, who has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. TRULLINGER for the past twelve years. Also many dear friends who feel in his passing the loss of a real friend. NOTE: Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. |

Albert Trullinger was born in Feb 1880 in Nodaway Cty MO, died 17 Jun 1881 in Nodaway Cty MO. [according to 1880 census records, film roll 707, ED263, sheet 21, line 45, only Albert, not Robert, was listed on the census]. 37a. iv. Louis Trullinger, born about January 1884. Enumerated in a boarding house in Newton KS as a traveling salesman for a saddlery co. in 1920. Enumerated in MO in 1900 in Nodaway Cty [ED107-6-51] as a servant working for Edward Lewis. Census information about Barton Trullinger family In the 1860 Iowa Census [ Franklin Township, Fremont County] on 29 June we see: Barton W, age 29; Mary A, age 28; Wm B, age 6; Mary E, age 5; John B., age 3; and Francis M, age 2. All the children were born in IA; Mary Ann was born in Illinois. The real estate is worth $1,000 and the personal estate is worth $200. In the 1870 Iowa Census [p. 443 of microfilm roll ? Fisher Township, Fremont County, Post Office - Manti] on 29 June we see: Barton, age 28; Mary, age 28; William, age 16; Mary, age 15; John, age 12; Francis, age 11; Marion, age 9; James, age 6; Henry, age 5; Clara (Laura ??), age 3; and Isaac, age 4 months. Real estate is worth $6, 000 and personal estate is worth $4,000. In the 1880 Missouri Census [microfilm roll 707, ED-263, sheet 21, line 45 ? Polk Township, Nodaway County] on 16 June we see: BW, age 49; Irene, age 34; Marion, age 18; James, age 16; Henry, age 15; Laura, age 13; Isaac, age 10; Joe, age 6; and Albert, age 4 months, born in February. Irene was born in Indiana and her parents in NC. Marion, James, and Henry are farming; James, Henry, Laura, and Isaac attend school. Almost all of the US 1890 Census burned, and no records are available. Barton is yet to be found in the 1900 or 1910 Censuses, although the 1910 Census index for Missouri erroneously lists him as living with the same wife and step-daughter in Mound City, Holt County as were enumerated with Martin Trillinger in 1900. [The 1910 microfilm for Holt County is virtually unreadable]. 31. Francis Monroe Trullinger was born on 3 Jul 1858. He died on 19 Jul 1931 in Wells Cty ND. He married Mary Jane Shell on 24 Oct 1880 in Nodaway Cty MO. Mary Jane Shell was born on 25 Mar 1858. She died on 19 Sep 1892 in Nodaway Cty MO. Francis Monroe Trullinger and Mary Jane Shell had the following children: +50 i. William Monroe Trullinger, born September, 1881 in MO. + 50a. ii Laura Mabel Trullinger, born 26 March 1883 in Maryville, MO. She married George Aljets 29 March 1903 in Carrington ND died 23 March 1952 in Carrington, ND. +51 iii. Curtiss A. Trullinger, born 01 Apr 1885 in Maryville, MO; married about 1912, died 07 Mar 1974 in Carrington, ND. In 1900 he lived with his parents on the farm in Wyard Township, Foster County. In 1910 he's married, living in Carrington, working as a roofer and tinner with 2 boarders living with them, one of the boarders a teacher. In 1920 (when Francis has retired to town), he's farming a rented farm in Wyard Township, probably his father's old place. 51a iv. FrankTrullinger, born Dec 1886 in Missouri. In the 1910 Census, Frank, age 24, and his new wife Nellie, age 20, are enumerated living in Wyard Township with Francis and family. In 1920, Frank is enumerated as a farmer renting land in Pleasant Valley Township, Foster Cty; there are 2 children. My wife recalls that "Uncle Frank" later moved to Seattle, probably during the drought years of the 1930's. 51b v. Worley [Barton W. Trullinger's middle name] Trullinger "Uncle Pete", born July 1889. In 1900 and 1910 he's enumerated with his parents in Wyard Township. In 1920 he is living on Albert St. in Carrington with his occupation listed as farmer. His wife Barbara, age 28 in 1920, is working as a telephone operator, probably in the same office as Nellie. They have a son Francis who is 4 7/12 years old. My wife recalls seeing him at a family funeral in 1952 and that he was living in the Minneapolis area. 51c vi. Nellie Trullinger, was born Sept, 1891 in Nodaway Cty MO, just one year before her mother died. Didn't marry, died after 1960 in St. Joe, MO. She was apparently raised by Francis's sister, Mrs. Chance L. (Laura) Evans since Nellie is listed at their farm in the 1900 and 1910 Nodaway Cty, MO censuses as a niece. In 1920 she is living with her parents in Carrington, ND and is working as a telephone operator. My wife's mother and her mother's sister would go to (St. Joseph) MO to visit her. Alan Trullinger drove the two women down to MO to attend Nellie's funeral. He married Netta Witham on 22 Jul 1894 in Nodaway Cty MO. Francis Monroe Trullinger and Netta Witham had the following children: +52 i. Gladys Trullinger. |
