48170 | I29287 | Wimmer | Harvey Wilkerson | 28 Apr 1878 | 17 Jun 1921 | 0 | Harvey Wilkerson Wimmer's parents were true pioneers and were called several places to help settle different towns. He came from a large family, having six sisters and three brothers. The Wimmers lived in St. Johns and Woodruff, AZ. as well as Luna, NM. The family finally settled in Payson, UT. Harvey was a hard worker and loved riding and work horses. It was while he had a mail carrying contract that he met Sarah Ellen Shelley at Heber, AZ. It took him 2 years to convince her to marry him. They took a train with several other couples to Salt Lake City to be married in the temple on Oct. 8, 1903. They returned to Joseph City, AZ and bought a small home there. This was the home for the rest of their lives. To them came 4 children, Lawrence, Elmer, Margaret and Ivan. Harvey was a good father and husband. In addition to freighting, he was a good carpenter and worked on the Academy building in Snowflake and worked on many homes in Joseph City. Harvey was hard hit by the flu of 1918. Although he recovered his health suffered greatly. He developed heart and kidney problems. He tried to continue to work but couldn't do much. He had to sell his beautiful team of horses to a friend because he realized he couldn't afford to feed them. He needed the money to care for his family. He died in June of 1921 at the age of 43 and his family laid him away in the Joseph City cemetery. Twenty years later his wife Ella was buried beside him. | tree1 |

48175 | I39683 | Wimmer | Lawrence Harvey | 13 Aug 1904 | 20 Apr 1970 | 0 | Lawrence Harvey Wimmer was the first born son of Harvey Wilkerson Wimmer and Sarah Ellen Shelley Wimmer. His father was often engaged in various jobs that kept him away from home for long periods of time. Lawrence was quite enterprising as a youth and always looked for ways to add to the family income. He'd buy a box of corn and sell it at a town celebration. While still quite young he got 3 or 4 Rhode Island Red hens and one rooster. He carefully managed his little flock and successfully raised 30 pullets. He was not quite 17 when his father died and Lawrence gave up his high school courses to help his mother with the responsibility of gaining a livelihood for herself and her 4 children. At age 27 he married Fern Rhoton from Winslow, AZ. These being the Depression years, Lawrence invested in 900 chickens, fearing he might loose his highway construction job. It was only 1 1/2 years until Fern died with a ruptured appendix. During this lonely period of adjustment, Lawrence took a short vacation to Utah. There he met Ethel Shell of American Fork and married her a 1 1/2 years later in the Salt Lake Temple. Lawrence and Ethel had 3 sons and 3 daughters. Lawrence was quiet and unassuming but was a recognized for his leadership as a poultry man and operated a large egg procession plant and hatchery. In later years he planted an orchard and raised choice garden products. He was known for his honesty and generosity. At age 45 he became aware that he was developing poly-cystic kidneys, like his father. Remembering the hard years of his youth and a need for a father's help and guidance, Lawrence received a blessing promising him that he would live to see his children raised. This was granted as Sharon, his youngest child, was attending BYU when the disease finally took his life at age 74. Lawrence's family was his pride and joy and gave him his greatest sense of accomplishment. | tree1 |

48185 | I31753 | Winchester | Georgia Ruth "Nina" | 10 May 1903 | 2 Oct 1987 | 0 | In 1946 Georgia was convicted of forging checks and went to prison in Colfax, Washington. She was on a work release program until her debt was repaid. In 1950 when released, she went to Spokane, Washington with daughter Evelyn and her husband, Bob Thaves. She just walked out and disappeared. A private investigator was hired but she was never found. In 1978 she contacted her daughter, Jackie Thompson asking her to come and get her. She had falsely married a man named Elmer Buroker and changed her name to Nina Buroker. None of this was legal because she never divorced Rolland Weaver and she was still at the time of false marriage. Elmer had died and his family refused to take care of Georgia. She came back to live with Jackie which was short lived. She eventually lived in the Tekoa Care Center until her death. She lived in Spokane and went to school with Bing Crosby, supposedly. She used Social Security 537-30-5215 under Nina Buroker which was not legal. Her death record is under Nina Buroker. | tree1 |
