He married Betty L Drollinger March 13, 1959 in Sterling, Indiana; she preceded him in death May 24, 2002. He is also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, and sisters in law, Ralph (Thelma) Clawson, and Leo (Getrude) Clawson. Surviving family include three daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Campbell, Veedersburg; Sue Ann (John) Anderson, Veedersburg; Tina (Kurt) Abernathy, St. Cloud, FL; four grandchildren, Robert (Dava) Campbell, Carly (Chris) Coon, Whitney (Vinny) Ferraiuolo, Emma Campbell; five great grandchildren, Olin Campbell, Ethelyn Campbell, Charly Coon, Cady Coon, and Blake Ferraiuolo. Bob graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1949; he then served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Throughout his life he had been employed at Olin near Covington, Ed Powers Construction in Veedersburg; and for many years as a self-employed carpenter and farmer. He also enjoyed woodworking and riding his motorcycle in his younger years. More than anything he loved and adored his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a long time member of the American Legion Post #288 in Veedersburg, and VFW in Covington. Visitation 5:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday March 13, 2022 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Monday March 14, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Dusty Woodrow officiating. Burial at Osborn Prairie Cemetery near Veedersburg with military honors provided by American Legion Post #288 and the US Air Force. Cleary OBITUARY Cleary, 79, of Newbury Road, Ipswich, died on December 3, 2020, in his home of a coronary related disease. He was the husband of the late Cynthia J. (Cox) Cleary. Brendan was born on September 2, 1941 in Rochester, NY, son of the late George J. Cleary and Dorothy (Donovan) Cleary. He was a proud graduate of Norwich University, Northfield, VT. Following graduation, he served two years in the United States Army with one of those years being assigned as a tank platoon leader with the First Cavalry Division in Korea. Following his military service, he coached football and taught school in Montreal, Canada. In 1968, he joined the FBI as a Special Agent serving first for thirteen months in St. Petersburg, FL. He was later transferred to Los Angeles, CA where he served for nine years. While there, he met and married his wife Cindy and enjoyed the birth of their daughter, Erin. In 1978 he was transferred to the Boston Division where he served until August 2001 when he reached the mandatory retirement age of 57. Immediately following the events of September 11, 2001, he was called back to service and served another year investigating the activity of the 9/11 terrorists while they were in Boston and Maine on the days prior to their fateful mission. Following his retirement in 2002, he enjoyed working on his golf game at Amesbury Country Club, assisting for two years in the construction of three homes in Ipswich for Habitat for Humanity and five years delivering Meals on Wheels. In 2003 he was inducted into the Norwich University Hall of Fame for baseball and football and where he served on Norwich?s Board of Fellows. While serving the FBI from 1968 to 2002, he received numerous awards and commendations from many law enforcement entities. He was most proud of his 1992 Paul Cavanaugh Award for outstanding service to the Boston Division FBI. In 1997 he received the prestigious Director?s Award for Distinguished Service. He was also proud of his participation in the FBI SWAT Teams in both Los Angeles and Boston, serving in that capacity for over twenty years. In addition to his wife Cindy he was predeceased by his daughter Erin Cleary. Brendan is survived by a brother, Brian Cleary of Lynn; a sister, Michaela Cleary of Venice, FL; and two nieces, KC Cleary Comer of Rockland and Shannon Ggem of Agoura, CA. An interment service with Military Honors will be held at the Norwich University Cemetery at a later date. Following graduation she went to work as a secretary for the F.B.I. Boston office while attending Newbury College in Boston where she earned an Associate Degree in computer science. During her sixteen years with the F.B.I. she went on to become a training technician and worked with the South East Bomb Task Force in Atlanta, GA. In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by uncles Brian Cleary of Lynn and Gary Cox of Eugene, OR, and aunts Geri Bittner of Lynnfield and Michaela Geary of Venice, FL. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday (May 13, 2009) 3 to 7 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Barbara grew up in Dixon, IL where her mother was a nurse and her father a confectioner who owned Cledon's Fine Candies, a Dixon landmark for half a century. She attended Dixon High School and Sarah Lawrence College and studied abroad in Paris. She married Dale D. Drollinger August 10, 1957. Barbara was an accomplished pianist who enjoyed classical music and opera and was an original member of the local chapter of Chicago Lyric Opera. She was an avid reader and bibliophile with an impressive collection of Thomas Jefferson biographies. She was known for her gracious hospitality and superb cookery. She enjoyed lively conversation, fine arts, interior design and haute couture, and delighted in driving high performance automobiles. She was an artistic person and a lover of all things beautiful, especially the varying patterns of color and shadow created by sunlight through trees and leaves. She was a pet parent and grandparent to a series of beloved Yorkshire Terriers. Always a morning person, she loved greeting a new day to the chattering of wrens and singing cardinals. A lifelong Anglican Episcopalian and lover of the liturgy, Barbara is predeceased by brothers, James and John; husband, Dale; and daughter, Sarah. Survived by daughter, Cynthia H. Drollinger of Rockford and three grandchildren, Samantha Slack, Alexander, and Clare Green of Tucson, AZ. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 221 W. Third Street in Dixon, IL. Private burial immediately following. Zeltha was born March 4, 1919 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Leslie Richard Clegg and Zila Buttcane. She was raised in Blackfoot. While in high school she worked for her father at Clegg Furniture Store as a bookkeeper. Following graduation she married Melvin Cook Hooper on June 24, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had five children. During the war they moved to Vancouver, Washington where they helped build the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Arizona. Later they moved to Boise where she lived until their divorce. Moving to Mesa, Arizona, she met Var Rowley. They were married on April 22, 1961. He also had five children. They did a lot of traveling and visited many different countries. They worked on a service mission at the bishop's storehouse for many years. Var died in 2001 from an accident leaving her alone. Her greatest joy in life was her five children, her stepchildren and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an outstanding cook and always had something on the stove to feed anyone who came over. Her children and grandchildren all agreed she was the best (grand)mother in the world. Her love was unconditional and in return she was loved by everyone. She lived in Mesa until her ninetieth year when she returned to Blackfoot where her daughter, Rena along with the loving staff of Gem Village Assisted Living took care of her for the remainder of her days. Zeltha is survived by her ten children, Gerry R. Hooper of Mesa, Arizona, Sandra H (Donald) Ashby of Roy, Utah, Ronald L. (Phyllis) Hooper of Mesa, Arizona, Rena Blaser of Blackfoot, Idaho and Roger M. Rowley, Kenneth Rowley, Gordon Rowley, April Coleman, Penny Rowley and Chris Rowley all of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Lona Mae Sorensen of Blackfoot; 42 grandchildren; 81 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Cook Hooper and Var Rowley; her parents, Leslie and Zila Clegg; three granddaughters, Jennifer Blaser, Megan Rowley and Jennifer Eaton; one grandson, Brian Rowley; brothers, Theron and Richard Clegg; sisters, Alta Bailey, Edna Wardle and Glenna Clegg. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial services will take place next week in Mesa, Arizona.
