8414 | I5848 | Drollinger | Betty Jean | 10 Sep 1928 | 28 Jan 2018 | 0 | Betty Jean Drollinger Albertson Gibbs, an 89-year-old resident of Ammon, Idaho, and a former longtime resident of Paul, Idaho, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, in Idaho Falls. Betty was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Marysville, Idaho, the daughter of Cecil John and Norma Delone (Harris) Drollinger. At the age of three, she moved with her family to Osgood, Idaho, where she spent the rest of her childhood years. She fondly remembers their close neighborhood friends and the fun activities they shared. She loved school. She particularly loved music, and at an early age, began singing with her sister, DeAnn, and others; she was able to enjoy this talent throughout her life. She attended Ammon High School for one year and finished her education and graduated from Idaho Falls High School after the schools were consolidated. Betty met a handsome young man from the same Osgood community, Roger Deloy Albertson, and they were married for time and all eternity on Sept. 13, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1956, after just a few years of marriage, they homesteaded a new farm in Paul, Idaho. They moved their young family to the farm north of Paul and started a lifelong love of growing sugar beets, potatoes and grain. In 1970, Roger experienced a massive heart attack and passed away following 22 wonderful years of marriage. This event left Betty to raise her sons and the responsibility of operating the farm as a single mom. After Roger's passing, Betty worked many years for the Minidoka County School District as a paraprofessional and was deeply loved by all whom she associated with. It was during this time she met Ted R. Gibbs. Ted and Betty were married in 1980 and spent 21 happy years together until his death in 2001. In 2003, Betty sold the farm to the LDS Church and moved back to Ammon where she reunited with many friends and loved ones that she had known for years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout her life in the auxiliaries of the Church. She was Relief Society president twice and was in the stake Relief Society as well. Wherever she was called upon to serve, she gave her all. Her most prized possession was her unwavering testimony of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. In addition to her husbands, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Blaine; five brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her five remaining boys, Kenneth (Patricia) Albertson of Huntsville, Utah, Jerry (Angela) Albertson and Deloy (Gayle) Albertson of Burley, Rick Albertson of Idaho Falls, and Kevin (Carla) Albertson of Pocatello; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry (Nelda) Drollinger of Louisville and Richard (Julie) of Firth. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Ammon Idaho North Stake Center, 4363 E. 17th St., in Ammon, where friends and family may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Officiating will be Bishop Brian Call. Burial will be in Paul Cemetery in Paul, Idaho. A second service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Paul Idaho Stake Center, 424 W. Ellis St., in Paul, where friends and family may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Officiating will be Bishop Dean Stevenson. Burial will be in Paul Cemetery. Betty loved life, the Lord and her family. Welcome home Mom. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley. |

8449 | I5941 | Drollinger | Brent Lee | 1 Nov 1955 | 27 Aug 2023 | 0 | Brent Lee Drollinger November 1, 1955 - August 27, 2023 Bountiful, UT Brent Lee Drollinger, 67, died on Sunday August 27th, 2023 in Bountiful UT. Bountiful, UT -Our Father, Grandfather, Husband, and Brother, Brent Drollinger was born in Roosevelt, UT November 1st, 1955, to his wonderful parents Clifford and Gladys Drollinger. Brent was the youngest of 6 children (Leeraye, Cheryl, James, Marilyn, Steve) and an uncle a few weeks after he was born. He quickly became the life of the party, always keeping things fun and interesting. Brent was a free spirit who wasn't afraid to speak his mind or choose his own path. He was outgoing, everyone knew Brent! He was an active child, always stepping out of his comfort zone, from little league baseball to becoming the student body president of his high school. Brent was a loyal friend. His friendships formed in his earliest years are some of his strongest to date, too many to list (mainly for fear of missing anyone important). His nieces, nephews and cousins shared so many memories together. He always looked forward to getting together with his family, immediate and extended. He loved to perform in the family talent shows, singing comedic songs just edgy enough to make his Mom proudly embarrassed of her little star. Brent loved his parents, any chance he had he would stop by his childhood home in Roosevelt to meet with them and complete the many household projects they had. Brent married his 1st wife, Joanne, in 1976. He instantly became Dad to Marie Louise and Lisa Mae (Brian) and together they brought Jonthan David (Misty), Brenda Ann (Luke) and Lance G (Lisa) into the world. In 1994 Brent married his 2nd wife Cynthia Dawn, and instantly became Dad to Austin David (Anna). They later brought Madison Lee into the world. Brent loved Cindy with all his heart, telling anyone who would listen how amazing his "ol' lady is." Brent was a very great "Pappy," "Pappa," "Grandpa" to his 14 grandchildren. He was very proud of them, always supporting them in their many endeavors: Baseball, Golf, Football, Soccer, Plays, Dances, Choir, etc? They love their Grandpa and enjoyed all the attention he gave them. Brent left this world all too soon. He is survived by his Wife, Siblings, Children, Grandchildren, and dog Willow. He will be sorely missed. His laugh will fill our memories and his "Spirit will fly into the mystic" with his dog Odie. We love you Brent! Always! I guess "we're through talking now." Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah where a viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m and Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment- Bountiful City Cemetery. Services will be streamed live on Brent's obituary at www.russonmortuary.com. Published by The Salt Lake Tribune from Aug. 29 to Aug. 31, 2023. |
